The Most Uplifting Day of My Life
By Laura
Well I guess to begin with, I was hurting all day the day before, but I guess I got tired of it and decided to go to bed. But sure enough, at 6:15 a.m. the next morning, I woke up and my water broke. My husband still swears he could hear it fall. I was already dilated to 1 centimeter two weeks before the big day, so I guess that helped me out some.
My contractions started out at three minutes apart, so we rushed to the hospital, which was 45 minutes away, going around 70-75 miles an hour. By that time, my contractions were already one minute apart. It was going quickly. This is my first and only child. I had my mom and my husband in the delivery room. While my mom was holding my hand and staying in my face, my husband was staying in the background saying, Cool, and, Didn't know it could get that big!
It didn't take me long to decide to have an epidural. I was so drugged up that I was able to smile and talk between contractions. I was even able to walk to my recovery room. I felt soo good. I was only in labor for five hours. Pretty awesome, huh?
After it was all over and done with, I had a beautiful little girl. She was 7 pounds and 1 ounce and was 19 3/4 inches long. Her name is Hannah Rachelle.
She is 2 years old now, knows her ABCs and shapes, and loves the song Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. I'm very proud of my little girl.
