Water Breaks While Shopping!
By Na'kia
Here I am, me and my husband shopping, looking for the perfect crib padding
for the baby's crib. First of all, I'm only 30 weeks and didn't have any
plans on having a baby that day. I'm happy me and my husband, David, chose to
go downtown and shop that sunny weekend on February 13, 1999. This is
how it happened:
We had checked out, and while my husband was putting the bags in the trunk, I felt and saw water flowing down my legs. AHHH AHHH, I screamed, David, my water bag just broke! The nearest hospital was close by so it didn't take us long to get there. As soon as I got there, the nurses and doctor were ready. I started having these bad, bad, killer contractions, and that's when the epidural was given to me. I wasn't dilating fast enough, so the doctor said I would have to have a C-section. They finally took me in and did what they had to do. There she was -- 8 pounds, 9 ounces. Da'kia Imani Thomas. And that was the happiest shopping day of our life.
